Let in change

Let in change

When I am alone
my thoughts are
in order –
like a bookshelf
with neatly placed books.

Every once in a while,
when I meet Others,
my thoughts become
chaotic.

I prefer to be alone,
with the books arranged,
yet, once in a while,
their order sees change.

Nightly fancies

Nightly fancies

Excellent ideas
that come to us by night –
they ought to be put
among dreams.
In the morning,
they turn out to be
only silly, distorted reflections
of the Self.

Wellness

Wellness

How I appreciate
the look of your beautiful face –
fresh and full of light,
giving off so much light.

And I hope
that as I tend
what needs to be soothed inside,
my face will become
equally bright.

Fortunate

Fortunate

While I describe
my daily life
in simple words –
routine, regular, ordinary,
even boring at times,
two lost drunkards
pass by my house
peeking inside with curiosity,
possibly some envy.
I return their gazes
and smile kindly
to thank them
for prompting me
to add yet another simple word –
blessed.

On my way to unity

On my way to unity

When I began writing
I wrote
taking breaks for living.

Then, I decided
it’s preferable to live
with intervals of writing.

Now, the two actions
begin to merge.

Patience

Patience

Through my window
I see a garden
and observe
the gardener
planting seeds and bulbs
wedding flower beds
trimming shrubs and bushes
slowely and with care
day by day
even though his work
shows no end
and can seem invisible.
He doesn’t look at the time,
he feels time,
trusting it will come
to illuminate
even the most deeply hid
kernel.

I generally prefer
order, peace and silence
(some like to call it the state of Zen),
but it’s often excitement and chaos
that stir my mind
and whirl my pen.
